Hi there! I am pretty new to the research of what tendencies if im honest but what I do know is I am far left. Pretty much started with the readings of Fidel Castro (hence the name). Joined basically to develop my understanding and this seemed the best place.

Castro could have done much more, however I do think everything he did was more or less forced upon him. You should read something other than him though, or any other stalinist for that matter. Welcome to revleft though!

Any suggestions on what books I could buy would be good to start with? Thanks

Read Marx's Communist Manifesto and Wage Labour and Capital. If you're interested in the anarchist tendency, I'd recommend anything by Bakunin or Kropotkin. Bakunin on Anarchism edited by Sam Dolgoff is an excellent collection of Bakunin's works.
Also, you should check out marxists.org -- has every text on Marxism and revolutionary socialism that you will ever need.

Hey VivaCastro, welcome to revleft. In regards to selecting a tendency of any sort I suggest you develop your own perspectives and analyses of pivotal events (such as the Russian revolution, etc.) first by reading a range of authors, and then if your perspectives and analyses happen to be aligned with a tendency then so be it. Tendency doesn't actually matter in the bigger picture of real class struggle out there in the real world and personally I'd argue against aligning yourself with any of the multitudes of extant "communist" tendencies out there. Besides, more-or-less "orthodox" Marxism seems to be making something of a comeback on this site anyway ;)

Welcome comrade!
Rosa Luxemburg here: http://marxists.org/archive/luxemburg/index.htm she is great.
http://www.marxists.org/index.htm is a great place to read up on Marx, and from there begin reading different theorists (Lenin, Trotsky, Luxemburg, Kropotkin, etc.).

Sorry! It was unintentional, I just don't think I'm really qualified to recommend introductions to tendencies other than anarchism. :D

Hehehehe the usual tendencies showing up, I'll refrain from trying but Anarchy! said marxists.org can show you pretty much everything. (reading everything eventually like I intend to do :))
Anyway, welcome

Pay no attention to those saying you should join such and such a tendency. You'll have plenty of time to decide for yourself. Best of luck in your endeavors, and welcome! :)

He suggests reading something outside of Stalinist ideology, and he is suddenly a "loonatic [sic] trotskyist"? For fuck's sake, the unbelievable and ridiculous sectarianism of some of you M-Ls pisses me off....
