As a Communist what are your views on Taxes. Are you for higher or lower taxes? Would you be for lower taxes as an Anarcho-Communist?

Well, in a communist society there would be no taxes as there would be nothing that needs funding since all labor would be equally divided.

In today's world, I would suggest that the rich be strongly taxed. In a world of communism there would be no rich to tax, or poor to need their taxes.

I'm a bit confused by the question to be honest.

If you mean, after the revolution, then, I'm a communist. I'm opposed to capitalism so I'm opposed to money and taxation. Higher or lower it matters not, abolition is what I'm after.

If you mean before the revolution, well... see my answer above to be honest.

What I'm aiming for: the abolition of capitalism and the state; failing that, I'll settle for not being forced to work at gunpoint and getting some cake. But I won't enjoy it as much as I'd enjoy socialist cake.

Taxes are used to provide social services that I and many other working people depend on. That said, they also fund wars, police, and various other things that are bad for me and other working people.

There is no clear answer to this, really. Under capitalism I support a graduated income tax and believe the funds should be appropriated by the people democratically, not by the state.

This is one situation where I believe the social democrats actually do have the right idea in bourgeois democracy. The more income, the higher said person is taxed; taxing should be done according to proportionate income levels.
Anyone hear learn about fixed tax rates, as in everyone pays the same amount, not percentage? Pretty pathetic, and as usual was pushed heavily by capitalist institutions.

I have no position on tax under Capitalism, I don't care to be frank. My goal is to further Communism, wasting time on taxes isn't really going to do that.

I believe the O.P. referred to taxes/taxing under communism.

I felt like this was already answered.

What's to tax? Not money surely, because that implies alienated goods.

Although the knee-jerk reaction of many right-wing personalities is to decry any taxation on the wealthy as socialistic, I do not believe the question of taxes is a core component of our thought.

The taxation debate generally centers around how to make capitalism function more efficiently, with the reformist liberal and social democratic in favor of higher taxation on the wealthy to fund social programs so the poor can have more wealth to consume; and the classical liberal and libertarian side in favor of lower taxation so the wealthy have more to invest.

This debate rests on the premise that the means of production are owned privately. The need for the state to extract wealth to function must come from the private sector in some way. Socialists generally do not seek to make this system function better, but to replace it with a system in which wealth is collectively controlled by the workers. This rejects the basis on which the debate is centered.

Therefore, many may believe in higher taxation on the wealthy to give temporary reprieve to the working class through social programs until the revolution kicks in, or not take a position at all. Either way, it is not a socialist position, per se, but a decision on an individual basis.

It's not just an issue of taxation, it's also how it's spent. There is no point in higher taxes on the wealthy if it's just going to be spent on them.

The tax is the obligation of citizens and taxpayers to contribute to nation building. Right now I do not have any taxes at all. Now my income is very low, it is worse.
