Reading this has soured my long-held love of this show. I'm not naive enough to think the talented cast wouldn't be making a lot of money, but to see just how much and the repeated protests they made about not getting enough makes me dislike them deeply.

I disagree, but that's a whole other discussion.

Widening the net somewhat, it spoils my experience of any film, TV show or what ever to know the ludicrous amounts people are paid to star in them. I know a show or film that is successful makes money and that money has to go somewhere, but if I was being offered that level of pay for acting / performing, I would either refuse and ask that a large chunk is diverted to charity or something, or just not keep it all and give to charity myself

It's probably becoming a bit of a cliche to say it, but I agree, in recent years most of the episodes seem to revolve around a mixture of the increasingly stereotyped characters and their exaggerated character traits and completely random events with no apparent connection happening to them. At the very least it says something when the trope (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Flanderization) which involves over-exaggerating particular character traits has the Simpsons as it's trope namer.

I can't comprehend why anyone would complain about getting $4 million or whatever a year, if they don't like it tell them to fuck off and go hire a talented homeless person, like the guy with the radio voice!
