Judaism is another special case for Dominionist Christians and their goal of seizing the Religion Mountain. They are, out of necessity, vehemently Zionist because the end-time scenario they believe is happening now (or is imminent) requires the massive relocation of Diaspora Jews to Israel. An Israel defined by its biblical borders. Its this insistence on biblical borders that stands behind the Dominionists vigorous opposition to a 2-state solution in Palestine and their deep entwinement with the most extreme Likudniks. On top of all that, a new addition to the end-time narrative is sweeping the church: a conviction that a critical mass of Jews must convert, must become so-called messianic Jews in Israel, to trigger Jesus return. This latest addendum to Dominionist eschatology is fueling an explosion of proselytizing efforts directed toward Jews, an effort they call "one new man", eliminating any distinction between Christian and Jew. They provide paramilitary security and equipment to guard the settlements, and support the so-called Price Tag policy in which settlers attack an Arab mosque, olive grove, or vineyard in retaliation whenever Israeli forces intervene to halt expansion of the settlement. In 2010, one of the largest Christian Zionist organizations, IFCJ (International Fellowship of Christians and Jews) alone gave nearly 80 million dollars to Zionist efforts of the 100 million they collected. Thats only one organization out of thousands and in just ONE year!
Another major player in Christian Zionism is CUFI (Christians United For Israel), founded in 2007 and led by Pastor John Hagee of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio. Since its founding, CUFI has donated more than 50 million dollars to settlement interests in Israel. Hagee, CUFIs leader, is a very vocal, and highly visible, mouthpiece for Dominionist Christian Zionism whose events are attended by thousands of Evangelical Christians and Likudnik Jews. Hes a regular on the guest circuit of dominionist mega-churches, and his materials are freely distributed in churches where donations to his organization are collected. Hard-right politicians from both Israel and the USA are his frequent companions, despite his well-known penchant for anti-semiticism, an anti-semiticism that borders on psychotic. Hagee is fond of donning a tallit (prayer shawl) for sermons, thinks the anti-christ is a gay half-Jewish German man, subscribes to the New World Order/Global Currency/International Banking conspiracy theory and blames Jews for the Holocaust. As American Jewish funding for Aliyah (Jewish immigration to Israel) has dwindled, the Dominionist Christians have stepped into the lurch. But theres a dark side to their magnanimity. The Dominionist missionaries literally pore over official records to identify clients that have at least 1 Jewish grandparent. The Christian Zionists then provide the funds for the client to move to Israel as well as day-to-day support once theyre settled in the Promised Land (West Bank, of course). Its so much of an issue that the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) has had to perform their own conversions when they discovered that 6000 new recruits werent Jewish according to Jewish law. The tip-off was when the new recruits wanted to be sworn in on the New Testament! The most recent addition to the Dominionist Aliyah effort is in Latin America, where they are sponsoring DNA tests to identify candidates with sufficient Jewish markers in their blood to qualify for Israeli citizenship under the Law of Return. The goal of all this effort is to get enough Christians who are ethnically Jewish (or part-Jewish) to reside in Israel so Jesus will return. At the rate they are going, its conceivable that Israel will be a Christian state in the near future.

In the words of a former Pentecostal pastor who now works for the counter-missionary group, Jews For Judaism, Over the last 20 years, a multi-million dollar assimilation movement has evolved internationally to woo, win, entice, beguile, or ensnare the secularized Jew, the unaffiliated Jew, the biblically illiterate Jew, the disillusioned Jew. He defines the conversion of a Jew as the ultimate Christian mitzvah. Dominionist Christian ministries have created some 300 "messianic" synagogues in the US, and more than 100 in Israel. Thats more messianic institutions in Israel than the combined total for Reform and Conservative and they are lobbying hard for official recognition as legitimate Jews in Israel.
The messianic synagogue doesnt display overtly Christian symbols, but makes use of a plethora of Jewish ones. They are fond of shofars, prayer shawls, and kippas; but the service sounds more like a Christian revival. Theyve even appropriated the beautiful, haunting Hatikvah (Israels National Anthem) and changed the words. (Its the opening song in the link. Heres the real Hatikvah, if youre interested.) Just as some have done in regards to Islam, some Dominionists are officially converting to Judaism to target the vulnerable in the Jewish population within the traditional synagogue. In an exemplary case, 1000 American Evangelicals are requesting to immigrate to Israel and convert there to Orthodox Judaism. Given the intense proselytizing efforts of Messianics and other Christians, this is a causing a very real problem. The Jewish community, both here and in Israel, has been slow to catch on and is scrambling to counter the missionizing efforts. In Israel, this is being down primarily by the organizations Jewish Israel and Yad L'Achim. Here in the US, the counter-missionary efforts are led by Jews For Judaism and Outreach Judaism.
