johnny cash is dead . and i miss him . he was jsut an all around badass . and still before his death he showed he still had it making NIN's hurt into a song thats better than the original.

Johnny Cash ... i miss him too. one of the greatest men to ever be invovled with music. he never stopped getting better. each album he made was better than the last. especially his 4 albums on american. his songs are so beautiful and unassuming. just like him. i really love his cover of ONE by u2, also the first song off his last album- when the man comes around. i think it was the last song he ever wrote and i love it the best.

... by the way the funniest moment for me in a long time came during the mtv music awards. snoop was giving the whatever to the best music video and hurt was on there. right after they showed all the clips snoop goes, 'yeah, johnny cash is my nephew.' i was rolling for hours, still makes me break out into a big grin thinkin about it.

great guy, i prefer the NIN version though i think it has more feeling to it, that whole album [downward spiral] is pretty emotional, esp songs like the ruiner which is clearly about herion or other hard drugs
