So I thought the only person in my family who knew I was a socialist was my mom but it turns out I'm the only one who didn't know everybody knew! The whole family(like aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins) was at my aunts Saturday for my little cousins 6th birthday and it starts to get late and the adults are almost all drunk. So we start playing monopoly when my aunt asks me to explain to my cousin what a monopoly is and ends with "Mr. Socialist Guy". I'm totally caught off guard and ask how she knew I was socialist. Every drunken adult there started laughing like I was playing around. Wtf I felt like an idiot. And it wasn't really a secret just something I didn't know everybody knew about.

This seems to me like it might turn out she was just joking, leading up to a sitcom moment when they find out you really are a socialist.

No because they all started talking and laughing to each other about how they knew but that I didn't know they knew.
