I think its a good thing to look at, Socialist mayors, local socialist policies, obviously they have limited scope and limited resoucres but its sitll a good study, there have been various, but almost all of them vastly improved the lives of the cities residents.

Many of them had different policies, some keynsian, some focused on cooperatives and non profits, others focused on public projects and public industry, others pro-union, setting up public services and so on, most of them also did'nt rake in a public debt.
