It's time for a wide spread, old school "blue flu" style strike. On Nov 23, call in sick to work. The more people who do this, the more impact this will have. This is especially true if you work in service industries such as fast food resturants or box stores.
If you can get the day off without getting fired and losing your only source of supporting yourself, then join a one day strike against corporate control and the exploitation of the working class. If you have a job, call off for the day. If you run a small business, shut it down on 11/23/11. Don't go shopping, close out your bank account.
The economy is powered by the workers. We have the control. The ownership class has forgotten that for too long. Remind them.

Wouldn't November 25th be better?

Thanks for the suggestion! I will take BOTH days off (the 24th and the 25th) in solidarity with my Commuinist Comrades. :)

In most Non-Western nations you can't even do this / it'd get you fired.

In the USA the 24th is Thanksgiving and the 25th is the "Day After Thanksgiving." Both pretty much days off anyway. :)

Not for retail workers. I suggested the 25th because of the Shopping Wars that occur that day. If a lot of people call in sick who work at fast food restaurants and retail outlets .... well, it could be a ruckus.
Unfortunately, here in the south calling in sick without having someone to replace you can and will get you fired if you don't have a cushy job with benefits.

Yeah, I'm sure this will accomplish a lot. Let's get the nurses at St.Jude's Children's Hospital to join in too! Viva la revolucion! :che:

The date of the 22 - 23 came under discussion because its right before the "black friday" mess. Unfortunately, almost every service worker knows that you can't call in on holidays or the day after thanksgiving without getting fired. So the day before is the next best thing.
And yes, it would be so much better to call in on black friday but its not realistic to expect people to give up their only source of (already meager) income for a one day strike.
