Anyone think making a far-leftist anti-teaparty group is a good idea?

Nope

There's no point having a group that everyone here agrees with.

^I thought the intent was an actual group, and not a forum group. Hm.

Donner Party (http://www.revleft.com/vb/group.php?groupid=801)? I have supported and proposed this numerous times. Something has to be done as this shit can no longer just be merely laughed at or ignored as the notion of Tea Bagger candidates being included in the GOP debates can atest too.

I don't want to see the hellhole a Tea Party America would be like. There's no left wing equivalent because there's no real left wing in the US.

There is, but it is quite small.

Well, I was thinking of something to oppose the right libertarians/constitutionalists, rather than fascists and nazis. The two are separate and should be dealt with separately. For instance, since the Tea partiers have not become violent yet, using violent tactics against them would be pointless, whereas the case with fascists and nazis is different.

ideologically etc they are pretty much an american version of fascism, wanting the country to go back to some mythical past of purity and glory. yeah they seem generally less violent than explicitly fascist groups (like neonazis), but id be surprised if no one had been killed by tea party people. groups like the bnp and edl here are not officially violent, but are certainly fascist.

ARA (anti-racist action) is the equivalent to Antifa in the USA. During the 90's it had a pretty good run, with a few thousand members IIRC. Dunno what the status of it is now though.

Not really, they are free market and "libertarian," being at least economically different from fascists. They think they're defending liberty, rather than order.

Also, I think that an "anti-tea party action" group is pointless. They're a paper tiger. This was illustrated clearly during the Madison protests.

Occupy Wall Street is the anti-tea party.

What would the goals of this group be exactly anyways?

The same as AFA? To beat them. :D
