Nov. 10th Speakers in Williamsburg, VA

On Monday, November 10, members of the agricultural, ecological, and unemployed autonomous movements in Argentina and Brazil will speak and show slides and videos at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Speakers expected to appear include Graciela Monteagudo of the Argentina Autonomist Project in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Neka Jara of the Movimiento de Trabajadores de Desocupados de Solano (the Movement of Workers without Employment of Solano) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Giulius Cesari G. Aprigio of the Coletivo Alternativa Verde (Green Alternative Collective) in Santos, Brazil, and Ivania of the Assentamento Autônomo 24 de Abril (Autonomous Group of the April 24 Settlement) in Ceará, Brazil.

Topics of their presentations will include the proposed Free Trade Area of the Americas and the US Army's School of the Americas, both of which will be the targets of major demonstrations in the Southeast in the following weeks.

The presentations will take place in McGlothlin-Street Hall, Room 20 at 7:00 pm.

Yea, this was Joe's doing since he and Jake went to Argentina over the summer. If they go this year I'm going to try to keep some money saved in order to go. But it'll be interesting if I have to house people since Graciela Monteagudo asked for a private room and I doubt she'd want one in the boys house, the one Joe lives in where its ALL guys, probably a complete mess. But since I live in Kingsmill it'll be like housing revolutionaries in Williamsburg's belly of the beast.

tell me about it. i think ford's colony is worse though. SATs tomorrow and then miami will be determined from that. do you know exactly which week in november we'll be going?

Most likely we'll leave the 19th and come back the 24th, unless of course we have people that get arrested. If that happens we'll have to go with the flow and try to figure out stuff. If lots of people are arrested than we may stay and try to help out in getting them out. You'd probably be able to get your dad or something to get you a plane ticket or a train ticket to get home. Particularly if I were to get arrested since it's my car we're taking down there. Oh and the car is packed well it will be when we get to Jacksonville. People will have to squeeze together for a bit.

you said a while ago it was supposed to be like another seattle, right? well, one can't leave their comrades to the piggies. just do me a favor while we're there, sarah. try not to do anything that would get you arrested unless you're absolutely sure that it wouldn't be in vain. yeah, i'm aware of the packed-up car. i'll probably end up just bringing 4 pairs of underwear and socks, an extra pair of pants, and 2 extra shirts. since there won't be much room. where will we all be sleeping? and who's going besides you, me, joe, and the guy from jacksonville?

Jordan is also going. So I guess it wont be that crowded at all, unless we add one more person in the car, which would be fine with me. Then it'd only be crowded when we picked up the Jacksonville person, which is only a maybe. I say the more people the better cause the less driving I have to do. It's going to take about 16-20 hours to get there. One of the W&M students has family down there at which we can stay at. So we have a house to stay at.

Yes it is that Jordan. And right now I can't think of the guys name, which is really bad. It's also not a definite.

kickass. i think i did well on my SATs. at least i hope so. i think i aced all the math except for one of the problems. the verbal was ok i hope. and i got the piccies developed. including the one with the guy with the sexiest dreadlocks ever. they're pretty ok. my mom got doubles so next time i see you i'll give you your set. i wasted so much fucking film....

If you get the pics to me soon then I can scan them cause I have a scanner. How'd the one of you and I looking like terrorists :ph34r: turn out(hehe) and the group photos? Oh you never got a picture of Joe either. He seems to always be out of the loop. If you saw the pic from NYC, you noticed Joe went to that with me, but he wasn't in the pic. He was being a medic with his medic buddies. He knows a good deal of political people. So I've met a ton of people through him. He does suck with introductions though.
