I saw this shocking video the other day, and had to share it. It shows how much money US churches make, and what they really do with it

It doesn't say where the money goes. I don't know about the laws of different countries but aren't churches as non-profit organisations tnot allowed to keep the money other than for the running costs of the church itself?

I think it's different in the US. They have privileges

My sister attends one of these mega-churches. The preacher/whatever has a multi-million dollar home. :glare:

I always viewed churches as nothing short of organized crime...

Charity isn't going to solve anything, whether it goes to churches or not. I know there are some churches doing good for their communities, in spite of me being an atheist and a pretty militant one to boot. The only solution is a social revolution which will also wake people up from their mysticism.

Some churches do help their communities (in Europe mostly), I can't deny that, but those mega churches and their missionaries are pure scum: they use false charity as a ploy to convert others to their religion. Whenever there's a tsunami or earthquake in some non-Christian country, those vultures immediately swarm there, and a lot of times they promise to aid the locals in exchange for converting to Christianity. During the Asian tsunami, there was an invasion of US evangelical missionaries promising to rebuild entire villages if their inhabitants converted: a lot of people did convert, but the missionaries didn't deliver on their promises.
I have no sympathy for those parasites. Not only do they not pay taxes, their "missions" are very well funded by westerners who think they're supporting a good cause. As we speak, they're building church after church in India and other countries in order to eradicate other religions, brainwashing kids with toys and candy to convert them, and taking advantage of the poor for their own benefit. They're pure evil, and I dream of a world without them.

I'm of the opinion that these churches should get taxed. An easy ways to bypass the existing laws on not taxing religious entities would be to require all religious organizations to declare their revenues. Those that make, let's say, more than $1 million per year of profit after expenses (rent, bills, etc) would be required to pay a 25% tax.
