I'm guessing either "a lot," or they did it for free to delude others into believing their con act.I wouldn't be surprised if the people that these people "healed" were friends or relatives of the "healer."

You'll notice that the healings that usually take place are always for non-apparent or minor conditions. E.g., you never see an amputee whose limbs grow back. Most preachers, when they don't pay people to act, are very selective about who they bring to the stage.
