I find that the Huxley's view of the world is precisely what is going on today in much of the developed world. While Orwell's view is reserved for those in poverty stricken nations.
However, I feel that Orwell's view of the use of force to oppress the masses shows itself from time to time in the developed world in order for the bourgeoisie to maintain their hold on power. As we saw countless times in the past, protests are all fun and games until somebody challenges the capitalist system. Then the police come out and hand out a little "justice".

Agreed, it's the orwell regime using the Huxley tactics. (Though personally, I disagreed with the message of Huxley. We can only free ourselves from modern apathy by returning to traditional values and Christianity? Right.)
