Greetings from Arkansas

[Schizophrenia]

Hello all! I am a proud leftist living here in the US. As some may guess, I was hospitalized and diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia. As long as im on my meds (besides my zombie like state), most of the symptoms go away. I am here to learn.

Welcome! Schizophrenia is no problem in my book, as long as the more problematic.. uhm, problems can be kept away. Having a problem that Wikipedia ( :rolleyes: ) has decided to categorise as a mental disorder myself (Aspergers) I can identify at least partially, I'd say.

Do you subscribe to any particular ideology or tendency, or are you far saner than most of us?

Yeah, its been almost a year since I was first hospitalized. People ask me how I can just "pop out" and mention it to folks.

After:

3 Psychiatrists
2 Medical Doctors
4 Therapists
4 Orderlies
30 or so Patients

I can say its no big deal anymore.

Eh, you want more about Arkansas? Well, its part of the Bible Belt, and 3 Baptist churches are within rock throwing distance from my home. There are roughly 50-60 more within a few miles. Its usually not too bad, but local politics are definately shaped by the believers.

No Alcohol can be purchased on Sunday, I live in a dry county where you can't purchase it anyways, so its kind of a moot point.

There is no Communist/Socialist/Green/Sane party here in Arkansas.

God forbid I post about Me.

Also I'm sure you will have valuable contributions to make in the Discrimination forum. Mental illness, especially schizophrenia, is something very poorly understood in the public and their views of it are extremely warped & skewed at best. There's a lot of work to do on that front, by that I mean working towards fair treatment and understanding.
