I've posted questions on Yahoo Answers just for fun. For one thing I've found its loaded with Christian fundamentalist trolls. I asked a question about Norse mythology and religion a while back. Several people threw bible quotes at me and told me about the "true path to salvation".. I've had similar responses to other question. On the other hand I've gotten some very intelligent responses to a few history questions I posted.

Its weakest in religion, seems to have some strength in history, and completely falls apart in anything to do with politics. Its a service open to anybody with a computer and free time. So you get "people on a mission" to convert sinners who don't believe what they do and you get people with a lot of time on their hands.

It shouldbe looked at as something fun to do, nothing more.

While I'm definitely not a fan of Lenin or Stalin, this really shouldn't shock or surprise anyone. Yahoo!Answers is a breeding place for religious/political fundamentalists, trolls, and ignorance. It's a horribly warped place, especially in the Politics and Religion sections. I actually used Y!A before I came here, and it's where I first began to seriously identify with revolutionary leftism and its theories/tactics. I actually tried to post serious answers and questions in the Politics section for awhile, but I eventually realized the futility in such efforts and moved here. Now I recognize it for the rightwing, xenophobic cesspool it is. :D

You aren't going to get anything out of many sites on the internet if you're looking for some degree of real political debate. Yahoo Answers isn't really one you want to do that for, and lot of people troll on there anyways. I do sometimes too, posing as a far-right wing nationalist wackjob (a parody of my neighbor).
