yeah i never thought much of George Orwell, John Ball or Thomas More. Especially John Ball, nothing that he said should happen has ever happened.

why on earth dont you think much of george orwell?
he was a man not just with ideas, but with action under his belt too, that guy had the balls to stand up for what he beleived in, and was very clear about that was...
i cant see any way in which you can legitimately criticise him...

That was called "sarcasm" I actually like those people, especially John Ball.

the sad thing about George Orwell is that people think he was fiercely opposed to communism and socialism and that's why he wrote Animal Farm but we were never told in english when we read it that he actually was a socialist.

ahh, sarcasm, i comprehend now :)
Animal Farm was a roughly Trotskyist criticsim of Stalinism as a mode of Communism.

If you read any of George Orwell's other books his left wing opinions are plainly clear, especially in homage to catalonia, in which he talks about his experiences fighting in the Spanish Civil War in one of the Communist militias.

p.s I especially recommend: 'Down and Out in Paris and London', 'Homage to Catalonia', 'Burmese Days' and 'Nineteen Eighty-Four'
