Hello, I'm a high-school student, who comes from a conservative family, I also have family in the states (Ew) and am the only Communist I know of in the city(center of North America FTW) I reside, Our communist party is a joke. They know nothing of Marx and Engels, They spout on and on about the "working class" when they themselves earn 150K a year, doing nothing! It's sickening, Capitalism has misguided and brainwashed the youth in Canada and the US, I personally believe a coup or revolution is the only way to make things right, but thats just me.

A coup? We want the whole of the working class in power, not some military dictatorship.

1. Income =/= Class. You are still using the bourgeois (i.e.Capitalist) definition of "class", where it is a yard-stick to measure disparities in salaries, not a relation to means of production.

2. Making the distinction between "Conservative" and other schools of Capitalism (i.e. Liberals, Social Democrats, etc) is for those who wish to restrict a discussion within the realm of capitalism. For a Communist, a Liberal, a social democrat (NDP), or other hip "I'm okay, you're okay" type of capitalism is just as dangerous (if not more so,) than overt reactionaries (i.e. conservatives, fascists, etc).

3. You should be more concerned with your family's class than what citizenship they happen to hold (American, Canadian, etc).

Before you name-drop Marx and Engels again, read their works more extensively. Check out Lenin too, and we'll see where we go from there.

As for the CPC, their inadequacy as an organization is not a feature specific to Winnepeg. It's too bad that there really isn't a CPC-ML branch in Manitoba (anymore), but I suggest you check them out as a far superior alternative to Miguel Figueroa's historical society:
