I am currently an English teacher in Essen Germany. I was raised in the midwest in a Jewish family. So we have always been fairly left. I was critized alot living in the midwest growing up jewish, especially by right wingers.

My family has been always quite active in philanthropy and helping the community. Mother works for non profit, and my brother will probably be going down the same path.

I moved out west and studied anthropology and developed my political ideology while I was in school. I am a secular person and classify myself as being culturally jewish. While in my studies I had wrote several essays about collectivization (mostly about Israeli Kibbutzim). Marx was introduced during several of my anthro classes, and I started digging deeper. I then started reading up on several other leaders that sparked my interest (Lenin, Trotsky, Castro, Che). I then started reading more into Trotsky, and I started gaining a real understanding and interest into his politics.

I studied abroad in Germany one of my last years in school and while I was there I was introduced to several different organizations that interested me such as the Antifa and die Linke (the left). But I dont really associate myself with the Antifa. I did however meet several trotskyists/ leninists/ and classic Marxists.

I am looking forward to reading and sharing my opinion with others.

Welcome comrade!:)
Die Linke sounds very interesting(from what I could gather) even though I lack in depth knowledge about it.

Not sure what to make of die Linke yet as modern German politics is a bit of a weak point of mine, although I do know a fair bit about 1960s/1970s West German politics.

Glad to have you here - welcome to Revleft!
