I'm noticing a trend in the way these political campaign ads are headed...if this shit ain't propaganda I don't know what is. The scary thing is plenty of Americans will eat it up.

Agreed, it's like watching a fucking Transformers movie preview. I'm just hoping Obama stays in, if any of these people (most especially Perry) make it into office I'm moving.

Stephen Colbert did a pretty good job at exposing the absurdity of such ads awhile back when he did a parody of Pawlenty's "Courage to Stand," ad.

I think this just adds to Perry's insanity. Not that it's any different than previous presidential hopefuls, but I don't think I've heard one blatantly state it so.

wait, is Rick Perry pretending he'd actually like to change the amount of U.S. citizens living in poverty (by any other way than lowering what is considered poverty, possibly)? That's hilarious in so many ways. The situation in Texas has worsened under Perry, so it's just absurd.

That was a pretty damn good ad, seriously it is. Of course that reason is because it doesn't really say much about him, that could have been a communist ad if we changed a few words.

^One of the ironies of the article you quoted is that (I'm pretty sure) the congressional district Bob Turner represents probably won't exist in a year. Redistricting due to the new census will, in all likelihood, dissolve it and his seat will disappear, lol. So good luck with that Bobbie boy.

Exactly! It's like a magical movie is going to be played in November of 2012 and Perry is Batman and Obama is the Penguin or something.

It's really just the evolution of campaign ads. See?

I find it funny that he wanted to secede his state from the exact country that he now wants to rule.

Looks like an ominous trailer for a World War 3 movie. I feel a little bit sick, if not a little bit fearful of the fact this nutter can be in any kind of position to become president.

This seems more like an ad for the latest Roland Emmerich film then a legit campaign ad.
