Hello,I am a brazilian student(not studying at the moment but sounds better than "idle" lol). A bit of a poet and writer, and also someone with a passion for history, sociology and politics.

My father was a big socialist leader here(kinda inactive those days though due to some political plots against him and because of his age) and helped in the founding of the Worker's Party...which is sadly going right wing, he still supports the left factions however who wish to bring the party back to its origins. (the youth are especially hostile against the social liberal presence in the party).

Initially on politics because of personal issues(some psychological traumas) I was a political douchebag, you know individualist, wanting to "rebel" against my father, fascist tendencies, all that terrible egocentrism.

But as a result of the same traumas I started maturing a lot earlier than most people in my age, and started spending most of my time studing history and politics.

Then as my personality got more "stable" and I matured I couldn't agree with my previous ideas anymore and found myself agreeing more and more with dad.(I still hold some different ideas of course, like everyone should)

So now I am a Trot, mixed with some degree of Anarcho-syndicalism, Humanism and a few other things. I am a bit of a pan-leftist as well as I favor working with all the left as long as their ideas don't compromise the ultimate goal of socialism(a free and equal society).

Religiously I am and always was an atheist, both dad and mom were atheists so I didn't have any brainwashing on that regard. Before commiting myself though I studied all religions and came to the conclusion they are all bull (I respect individual choice however if not churches).

As a trot I probably don't have to tell you about my views on the "socialist" countries. But I would work even with Stalinists, Hoxhaists, and Maoists if they agree to work with me (which I doubt).

Something I always get angry is when other socialists deify some of our thinkers.

Anyway...greeting you all no matter which tendency you have. :thumbup1:

Welcome to revleft!

Politically I am a leninist though that is simply my base belief because I sympathize with other tendencies as well.

Thanks! I am not very "stuck" into tendencies too, most ideas can be salvaged for something. I like most leftist tendencies.

Welcome, nice to have you here comrade! :)

What's your opinion on the LSR (Brazilian CWI) and P-Sol, the party they work in as a tendency, if you have any?

What sort of writing do you do?

Sentinel- My opnion of them is mixed, on one side they are quite correct on their goals and correct in asserting that the Worker's Party has been failing on it's goals (by adapting more and more to the burgeois government). but they have failed so far in providing an alternative for the true left of the country. To give an example their last Congress was a mess, where factions attacked factions accusing each other of manipulation, frauds in the internal elections and of placing interests of some party icons above those of the party. These internal conflicts made many important leaders "retire" from politics and made some almost break with it, and the factions are getting increasingly hostile and distant towards one another.(LSR still being active and strong in the party).

Of course, this can all change and I hope it does and that the left unites. Those are some of the main reasons a decent number of Trots and other communists haven't joined it despite being unsatisfied with the Worker's Party (like me). Some blame them for weakening the position of the left inside the party, considering it almost won on internal elections just before they left.(lost by 1%)

So it does complicate things :(

TheGodlessUtopian - I write fantasy mostly(with a mix or marxist way of seeing history plus a more realworld like setting in regards to morality, religion, etc) but also some of sci-fi, alt-history and of course politics.
On poetry I write more about feelings as I find easy to put them into words (and rhyme, though I do that only because I like rhymes, it is not a rule), but I also composed two communist poems and intend to do more.

Fantasy, sci-fi and alternate history? Badass. Exactly my genres. :D

Indeed, it complicates. Internal splintering is a main in the ass.

Smyg - These genres are quite awesome :Dand very underrated in Brasil, time to change that! (then the self-criticism makes me get inactive again )
And yeah, the internal divisions are the worst thing.

TheGodlessUtopian - Sure thanks, I'll think about something to send to you. (again self-criticism):)

Sounds cool, but if we exchange email addresses we could send our works in a Word document (I think that would make things easier).

Alt-history! I love alt-history. I am a huge sci-fi & fantasy fan but can never get enough alt-history.
