I'm curious about the demographic here. This is not promoting the use of torrents; I'm just interested in seeing how many folks know how to use them.

Nope. Didn't have the internet back when it became the greatest thing ever, when I got it I never bothered learning. Would be nice to know though.

Fuck yeah! uTorrent FTW.
I hope someday we don't have to bother doing all this crap just to get some decent software for free, the true reason why Anonymous should be Socialists. :D
Software is already post-scarcity!

What's not to know? You install a program and click a link. Not even that, in Linux. A torrent program is standard with most distros.
Well, you might have to do port forwarding in Windows.

uTorrent has been pretty much upgraded to do the PFing for you nowadays, since those unsavvy people might have problems with it.

I haven't used it in quite a while, but uTorrent was my favorite for Windows. I always thought it was strange that they didn't do that automatically.

I believe it finally came out for Linux too, I use it on a Mac and have used it before on Windows.

If you are going to download a video game, make sure to get something like Magicdisc or Daemon tools to mount the game with before you run or install it. Movies are easy though, just download though utorrent and that's it.

I just kinda wish they'd make torrents of movies that didn't have Belorussian subtitles.
