Ask HHS to protect women's access to abortion coverage!
There's only one day left until our deadline: join more than 25,000 pro-choice Americans and tell the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to protect insurance coverage of abortion.
Unless HHS hears directly from people like you, countless women could lose access to abortion care!
Imagine a woman already struggling to afford health care and provide for her family. Under current law, soon she could be forced to clear unnecessary and burdensome hurdles just to keep her insurance coverage of the full range of reproductive-health services, including abortion. It's up to us to speak out against this unfair attack on women.
DEADLINE TOMORROW: Tell HHS to protect women's access to abortion coverage in their insurance plans.
These administrative hassles are bad enough – but anti-choice extremists are not satisfied: they want to make sure that no woman can get insurance coverage for abortion care. If anti-choice forces succeed in making the rules so complicated, an insurance company might decide to drop its abortion coverage altogether.1
That means that women without insurance coverage for abortion will struggle to afford the care they need – leaving many without true reproductive-health choice.
For a limited time, HHS is accepting public comments on how to implement the abortion‑coverage restrictions in the health‑care reform law. At this pivotal moment, it's critical that the voices of pro‑choice Americans outnumber those of radical, anti‑choice extremists.
Before tomorrow's deadline, speak out for women's health. Let's fill the HHS comment boxes before it's too late!
I know you won't stay silent while anti-choice leaders in Washington and around the country try to make insurance coverage of abortion so complicated that it becomes virtually unavailable.
Thank you for speaking out today.
My best,
Nancy Keenan
