Hi, Im redtex from the great red state of Texas. After working for capitalists for 24 years I came to the conclusion that capitalism exploits workers. Honestly it makes me angry to think about how after working for capitalists for 24 years I have almost nothing to show for it yet I made them very rich.
I was brought up in a conservative republican household. My dad, before he passed away, LOVED GW Bush. It was almost funny how he defended him in the good natured debates we had.
Anyway, I came to communism recently. As I grew older I realized that everything Ive been told is a lie.
First came religion. I am now a strong atheist.
Then came freedom. I realized that freedom in the USA is a lie. I went through a brief period of anarcho-capitalism. I read Ayn Rand, studied economics, banking, Mises, Hayek.
Then came capitalism. I realized that under capitalism only the capitalists are free. Im still a wage-slave. I've studied some. I'm still new to communism, but I've studied enough to realize that communism is the way to go.
It took me a long time to get here, but Im here and Im ready for the revolution. I love freedom, I hate the state, I hate authoritarians, I hate capitalists, and I want to be free.

I read Ayn Rand

I assume that's past tense :D

Welcome

Haha, yes, of course it's past tense. I don't think I could stomach that Randian nonsense any more.

And sorry about my paragraphs. I copied and pasted my post out of a Word document and somehow lost the carriage returns between the paragraphs. Next time I'll use Notepad and preview the post.

Hello and welcome comrade! This is a great place to learn and further develop your leftist views. Ask questions, and join in on the debates. Even if you are wrong you will end up learning something. :)

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I hope you guys aren't too hard on me when I do join in and I am wrong:). I've been lurking around for a few days and I have learned a lot. Thanks for the welcomes everyone.

Welcome!

Both my parents are communists and their parents are mostly communists so I haven't had much trouble on that front.

Nobody here is "hard" on anybody. The people here are generally accepting and willing to communicate with each other in a very civilized manner. I don't know if I've ever seen somebody outright be rude to someone for asking a question to further their knowledge. :)

You sound like an Anarchist, that is Anarcho-Communism not so-called "anarcho"-capitalism.

I'm pretty passionate about freedom. Anarcho-communism sounds like the most free system. I still have questions. I'll post those in the learning forum so others might be able to learn from them as well.

Thanks

Welcome to Revleft. Glad to have you, interesting story behind your politics there. It's always interesting to find out how people came to change their mind.
