I hope I put in the right topic area, but basically my fairly conservative family has found out I'm socialist are about to kick me out, I've contacted several of the guys that I meet from the ISO that I meet the other week. I'm the only socialist I know and my only real friend in town already has his gf living in his 1 room apartment, and I don't really know what to do. I've started looking at several low income housing projects in the town near me and another an hour away so I don't have to see my family, any other suggestions?

Perhaps you could stay with you friend temporarily while you try to work things out with your family and/or find another place to live?
I would honestly suggest you just try to calmly talk it out with your parents while avoiding anything discussions of politics, though. At the very least, you could try to defuse the situation to a point where you can secure a bit of time to move out. Worst comes to worst, you can agree with them to moving out so long as they give you a bit of time to do so.
Now that I think of it, I'm fairly sure they would run into some serious legal issues if they tried to undertaken an immediate forced eviction over such a petty matter.
Also, are you a minor by any chance? If so, I believe that would make this situation far easier for you legally. Don't fret if such isn't the case, they still can't simply throw you out of your living arrangements without any notice.

That sucks. Your family are kicking you out because you're a socialist? That is the height of, I don't know what. For what it's worth you have my solidarity.
Do you have sympathetic extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins you could stay with? What did your ISO contacts say? Are you under 18 or still in highschool? If you have a guidance counselor you think may be sympathetic he/she may be able to suggest something. States are supposed to provide facilities for young people who get kicked out of their home.South Carolina might not be the most progressive state in the US but SC social services might have some facility you could stay at temporarily.
I don't what your overall situation is but could you enroll in a community college. Even if the semester has started its still would not be too late. You could take out a student loan and you can stay at a dorm.

I am not sure about the situation or anything that is going on, but maybe you could lie by saying you recant your beliefs (if your desperate).

If you can't find anywhere, don't go unless they physically throw you out. If your family want to act like slumlords, you should react accordingly.

I'll keep looking and see if it doesn't self-defuse, like most issues in my family.

That is usually how it goes in my family it can get stressful but it usually chills out. Even then you still have rights as a tenant and thus your family can't just throw you out they have to actually legally evict you.

Not to attack anyone's family here but I think it's sick that some parents would even CONSIDER throwing their kids out (especially over something like this). Sure, you're 22, but the fact that you obviously have nowhere to go and could be sleeping on the streets yet your parents want to kick you out because you're a socialist just makes me sick.
A: We kicked our son out of the house yesterday!
B: Oh my, why did you do that? Was he doing drugs or something?
A: No, he's just a dirty socialist scumbag!
Is this a normal conversation between two conservatives?
