A social-democrat I'm discussing right now claims that the victims of the Civil war should be on the tally of the Bolsheviks because, according to him, "the conflict was generally seen as the Third Revolution".

I have never heard of that term, neither from pro-bolsjeviks nor from anti-bolsjeviks, have any of you?

Tell him that "the Third Revolution" was a term used by anarchists, Maximalist-SRs and other opponents of the Bolsheviks from the left to describe the future rising against the Bolsheviks for the "Republic of Labour"/true power of Soviets. It is never applied to Whites vs. Bolsheviks' struggle.

'The third revolution' was also used to refer to October 1917 (with 1905 being the first and February 1917 the second). By the early 1930s some workers were talking ominously about the 'fourth revolution'

No, if these socialists had trampled upon all other revolutionary organizations and begun instituting state capitalism instead of socialist self-management. There was a big difference between the right-wing opposition to Bolsheviks and the left-wing (i.e. anarchist and left-Narodnik) opponents of the latter.
