An Opportunity To Fight Fascists

Hi,

I am new to this forum, and have been driven here primarily because of constant contempt directed towards me on another site, known by the simple name of "Political Forum-US and World Politics Forum". On this site I have noticed a troubling ascendance of neo-fascists who align with the far right of North American politics and continuously espouse far-right commentary attacking our fellow leftists and the various ideologies we support. Thinly-veiled racism, homophobia and various other forms of far right extremism are commonplace on this supposedly "moderate" site (the last straw was a thread in which certain right-wing posters defended Stormfront as well as the musings of David Duke).

Today, I speak before you pondering how to combat this rising tide and to ask if it would be a good idea for our fellow leftists to enter this forum in order to defend our ideologies and engage fascism head-on, through reasonable dialogue. As a Democratic Socialist with Anarchistic tendencies I hope we can stand united and fight this threat without entrenching some against us. I hope I can reach many fellow Progressives, Socialists, Anarchists and Communists and fight this threat.

We actually 'raided' that forum a while back. It was useless; you can't convince people that deep into the fascist movement.

A good fist to the face ought to do it.

Arguing with internet fascists is pointless. They have a tendency to reject all reasoning, logical or otherwise.

How to "debate fascists"

1) Confirm they are a fascist.

2) Commence violently savage beating.

3) Leave.

Congratulations, you just won a debate with a fascist. Now back to your other activities.

No but seriously, you can't argue with these people. Most of the time they get mad and violent. What can you expect but savagery from a person who views you as inferior to them? Best bet is avoid rather than confront because honestly, for the vast majority (there are always exceptions) no amount of logic, commons sense, or ass kicking is going to change their mind. No sense in wasting your breathe.

You can't enter into debate with a fascist. It's largely pointless and it gets you nowhere.

Internet forums are a great battlefield for ideological debates not only with fascists though. Specially if you live in a country that political presence of your tendecy is weak, its a great place to start. In Greece political forums are on fire for the last 2 years!
