As you maybe know, parliamentary elections took place last Sunday (not yesterday) in Switzerland and the rightist party got the victory. I'm disgusted!!! Inn our country young people usually don't vote, just the old who have nothing else to do (that's the impression I got) and the results are just good enough to vomit on them.
I just wanted to express my anger somewhere and this seems to be the right place here.

that's the biggest problem about the US. we have a 30-40 percent voter turnout in elections. republicans and other right-wing individuals dont' see this as a big deal... infact they tend to brag on it. Stating that, "the people don't have to concern themselves with voting, because they're happy as is!"
Heh. The ultimate irony is that the larger percentage of people who don't vote are the groups whom would traditionally vote in favor of left-thinking parties. It's a shame to think what could be changed if everyone got out, informed themselves on the issues, and voted!
Maybe we'd see a progressive trend, and increased percentages for the 'lesser' parties.

Well it is ur own fault. Why arent you organising? strengthening on a personal level your marxist knowledge to spread to others and making a stronger marxist organisation??
the point about no left groups to vote for is typical of a situation where there is no proper leadership, read first few pages of trotsky's transitional programme. its pretty good

yeah ure right...
leftists usually vote in my country, but still the voting majority consists of elderly Christians and rightists... anyway, I'm about to join a leftist political party, so you can't say I'm doing absolutely nothing. ;)

i was in a rush yesterday, so i must sound like a right ultra-left bastard :)
Anyway, where were we....
first thing u could do is to form a discussion circle, ideally with youth. With this you can bring up issues related to the youth and show the marxist answer
Do you go to university? If so try to get into the student union body...from there u can use funds and the paper to get across the political messages we stand for.
Try and read the classics of marx, lenin trotsky etc, will show a lot of analysis for u to pass on.
