Two days ago there was an assassination attempt to the life of comrade Isaam Makhoul, general secratery of the Israeli Communist Party and a Knesset member of the Hadash (DFPE) faction. A bomb was installed in his car and exploded seconds after his wife stepped out of it.
This is likely to be the work of an extreme right activist. The announcement of Baruch Marzel (from Kach - the facists) and his fellows saying they don't condemn this act makes this option more likable.
It is more than possible that an extremist seen how Makhoul fight against the occupation, for the right of return, for the refuser and leads the struggle against the israeli nuclear power and decided to try to kill him. And it is also possible that his simply being a non-zionist arab Knesset member made him a target - the arab MKs' are demonized by the media.
It is also possible that the Shabak (israeli F.B.I) tried to assassinate him. The forces of security are "interested" in the arab minority since the foundation of the state. A communist leader threatening both the discrimination and the capitalist system is a "good" target for killing. Like they kill palestinian leader in the occupied territories, they can kill palestinian leaders inside Israel.
This a new stage of the growing facism in Israel. A new, dangerouse stage.
