I do think it's odd how militant Christianity seems to be on the upswing in America as of recently to the point where I'm not sure if we can just ignore these nutters anymore and laugh it away as some nonsense. On a less serious note, I want to know what's up with the name, Joel's Army? Dumbledore's Army? Avada kedavara!

Just another reactionary para-fascist religious group which seeks to impose an impossible agenda upon the United States.I have a feeling that if these clowns gain any real political power than we as leftists probably are gonna have a lot more to worry about then "just" them.

The Southern Poverty Law Center wrote a great article on them and explained that the group takes their name from the Old Testament Book of Joel. In the book God sends a plague of locusts to destroy Israel's crops for their sins, and Joel's army sees themselves as the army of God's judgement for America's sins.

I have to say that it doesn't get much more fucked up than that.I seriously hope that a coalition can be built to ensure that people likes these can never actually do anything.

Well,I know which militant Christian group I am going to be fighting.
