Texas has a jobless rate of 8.2% vs. 9.1% - Meaning 25 states have a lower jobless rate than Texas.

9.5% of Texan workers earn the minimum wage vs. 6% for the nation.

26% of Texans don't have health insurance vs. 17% for the nation.

Median Texan wages are 7% below the national average.

Paul Krugman, a recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economics, attributed the state's job growth to its growing population, which has lowered labor costs and attracted businesses to the state.

According to Krugman, the high population growth in the state was due to a high birth rate, immigration, and internal migration of other Americans, due to the climate and low costs of living - especially the low housing prices from less restrictive zoning policies, which he described as the "one area where Texas does in fact do something right."

Texans are as dumb as Floridians when it comes to politics and voting.
