It seems like the main points here are as follows.

1. Productive labour under Capitalism is labour which produces surplus-value.

2. Countries with super-awesome natural resources and abundance are less likely to become Capitalist first.

Other than that it just looks like Marx slamming Ricardo and Mills, am I missing something important?

Who?

You're already up to chapter 16?

When did you start?

You're already up to chapter 16?

When did you start?

Way too fucking long ago.

Start of the summer, I did it a chapter a week up until like chapter 5, then I did a chapter a day.

But then came the beast that was chapter 15.

Up until chapter 15 most chapters had been mostly informative containing lots of material to reflect on. Chapter 15 had a lot of words, but little content from what I gather. This intimidated me and I couldn't find the content I so longed for.

I stopped reading for a long long time before again picking it up.

If you want all my notes just PM me.

havent read it but point 2 could easily be supplemented with guns germs and steel. (the whole point of that book and documentary are about geography and social/economic development)

watching that inspired me to read origin of the family(Engels) which is a good secondary supplement although pretty much a tangent off of the point in Ch. 16.
