And his name is............
Lenin :D (first name, he's black/Hispanic)
Perhaps he is some sort of prophet destined to lead us to revolution? Will it start in a Northeastern American department store?
I just told him his name was cool :D

There's a few Lenin's in the world, pretty cool you met one. There's a well-known organizer in India named Lenin, because his dad was a revolutionary, but it sounds like the man himself is a reformist.

This thread reminds me that there is, in Venezuela, a man named Stalin Perez Borges, described by the USEC publication International Viewpoint, IV370 -- September 2005, as a "trade union leader and long-standing Trotskyist militant, [who] is at the heart of the revolutionary process in Venezuela."
I think I remember seeing a picture of him, and he is one big dude.
Go figure.

If you name your kid Lenin or Trotsky you should be charged with child abuse.

Wasn't the terrorist Carlos the Jackal's birthname Illich or something? Also, on the topic of baby names, I've always like the names Frank and Esther, even though Esther is biblical, it's still an awesome name.

Anyone think Lucifer is a pretty name? I think it would be a good name and for short the person could go by Lucy. I wouldn't name a child that for obvious reasons(bullying), but I think it is nice and don't like the negative connotations it has been given..

Yes, his father was an armchair revolutionary.
As far the revolutionary messiahs goes, I thought it could be The Man but now this perhaps changes things.

i would have more problems with that the name actually means "gods light", than that its an name for the devil.
if i ever have a daughter i'm going for Lotta, completely acceptable girls name (the name also of some really cool astrid lindgrin childrens books) but also means "struggle" in italian.
my boss just called his first born son Biko, i thought that was nice too...

My girlfriend has a cousin named Ninel. Hugely popular girl's name in Russia during the 1920s; in this case, however, Ninel's a dude. Lenin is a pretty popular name in Latin America and Africa - I have a Facebook acquaintance in Zimbabwe whose middle name is Lenin. Like as not your new co-worker's parents had some sort of revolutionary background around the time he was born.
Tried for months to convince my friend and comrade David - a Jewish Bolshevik - to name his first-born son Leon, but to no avail.

If I ever get a pug I've considered naming him Trotsky. I'm not even particularly sympathetic to trotskyism or trotsky himself, I just thought it sounded like a cute name for a wrinkly little dog.
