It's always disconcerting to find new features on one's body that weren't there before. Things like this lump, no more than a centimetre across, that I found under my skin near my right armpit, on the level as my nipple but more to the side of my thorax.

I've had a similar-feeling lump behind my left for at least a few years now, but this development makes me think something may be amiss.

Is this something I should get checked out?

Swollen lymph nodes perhaps? I've had one on the side of my neck for most of my life. A lump can be one of any number of mostly innocuous things.

In any case, if it's worrying you, see a doctor. There's no better way to put your mind at ease, and that's the important thing.

Go to your doctor and tell him you've noticed a new development that wasn't there before. I also have a swollen lymph node on the back of my neck. Doctor said it wasn't anything to worry about. I've also had it for most of my life.

you have to go to a specialist or doctor.
