I'm from Milwaukee, and I'd have a lot more sympathy for the people in Madison if they'd stop acting like voting in Democrats is actually going to do something, and recognize the problems inherent in the system.

A lot of that is the state of the left in this whole damn country. Madison very liberal, but there are a number of actual leftists there, and a lot of the libs are social democrats, many of which could really radicalize. Don't discount that town yet, if the US population starts noticeably shifting to the left of liberalism the Madison radicalism could return.
