This is a protest, all they want is a town hall (imo, one of the pillars of democracies, after many revolutions the main governing institutions were things like popular assemballies, community centers, things similar to town halls). Republicans have started a trend of privatising town halls to keep them under their control, basically tearing up yet another democratic institution. These people said no, and they got it (lets see if it pans out).
Obviously I think that ultimately US uncut and Labor have the right idea (attack economically first), but these protests make a difference, a group of people in solidarity is the scariest thing for capitalists and the rulling class.
