Been hovering on another like-minded forum for a while, and figured I'd join up here as well.
I am from Denmark, and was always your fairly average social democrat. Some 8 years ago, I moved to the United States, and witnessing what passes for democracy, as well as a larger understanding of global capitalism led to re-evaluating my views and finally coming to the flat out realization that I am a marxist.
Unlike many, I don't feel any particular shame in the USSR, GDR etc. I feel it's important to learn from the mistakes of the past, as well as learn from the successes in the first attempts to build a socialist state, so that we can succeed the second time around.
