Greetings Comrades!
I am looking for some contemporary left wing political music. Right now I listen to a lot of Dead Kennedys, Rammstein, Rage Against the Machine, Pennywise, Danzig (not really leftist but still cool), Rise Against, Sex Pistols, etc. But I'm running out of stuff I haven't heard from these artists so can anyone give me any recs? thanks!

The Dicks. Check out "Dicks Hate the Police" on Youtube, that's probably their most famous.

You get rep for Rammstein.
Many of the classic metal artists made songs with leftist themes, tones, or allusions in them (whether the artists are leftist or not), Judas Priest for example.

I strongly suggest Against Me! One of my favourite bands at the moment.
Listen to some of their older stuff like Those Anarcho Punks are Mysterious or Walking Is Still Honest. I would post links but I don't have enough posts on the forums yet.

Sounds like you mostly want punk, so here you go... Most of this stuff is harder than what you listed, but give it a try.

Hah, well I really don't give a shit about whats cool or uncool. They made some great music back in the day. I don't particularly care for their new stuff, but I don't think they sold out like their older fans always ***** about, I just think it evovled into something different.

Pretty strange to reccommend music on it's message rather than on its genre or how good it is.

Yeah, I was hoping this thread would be about the genre.

I just realized we're incapable of naming far left non-punx music that isn't post-rock.

I just remembered about the album Animals by Pink Floyd. The album tells the story of a capitalistic society. You have the pigs that control everything and have the power in society. The dogs who will do anything to get what they want, basically like the corporate stooges in our society. And the sheep who follow the leader and do what they are told until eventually they have enough and rise up against their oppressors. It's really an amazing album and I think he was inspired by Animal Farm (not 100% sure) but it is not completely based on it. Even if you aren't a big fan of Floyd I suggest you check it out, it's a great story.

Have a listen to 'The Third World' on Immortal Technique's album of the same name. You have to cherry-pick, but on all three of his albums there are some very potent leftist lyrics.
