Oh, Dany... This silly business belongs in Chat. Moved.

But while I'm at it, that shit sounds like a shortcut to a real big hangover... I don't even do rum because it's too sugary for me, let alone maple whiskey, lol.

Indeed, its have a less stronger taste than rhum, so its easier to take a lot of it quickly without really noticing any effects.

Its also good for cooking food, even tho i must say rhum is better.

I would, but I make a great plastic paddy because if I am drinking liquor (which isn't often) it's generally Irish whiskey.

So what makes a distilled beverage from some sugary product a "whiskey" versus a "rum"? Can one have "sugar vodka" or some such?

So i heard the maple industry is the back bone of the canadian economy.

they are even processing maple syrup out of shale just to meet demands.

i think whiskeys are malted whereas rums are not. and vodka is just vodka, but its not gin.

Most rum's are made from sugarcane, or things from sugarcane like molasses, even honey in some cases, and I've personally had one that was really odd, but came from sugar-something, or was a byproduct of sugarcane that was from southern Mexico.

I don't think you could have "sugar vodka", since most of what vodka comes from is just one main ingredient, and the smaller ingredients add in the process come out as some of the "impurities". I don't think sugar would last long in the vodka making process, it would just evaporate or something.

Whiskeys come in malted and grains. Malted whiskeys usually come from malted barley, and can be mixed with other things to give it different flares of flavor. Then you've got grain whiskey, which can come from all sorts of grains, like rye for example, or even corn.

And you can mix a barley and grain process to make a barley and grained whiskey.
