Is resting your muscles really that important? Here is my current workout regimen each day:
1. 200 pushups total, 100 when I wake up, 100 when I sleep.
2. 200 sit ups a day, 100 when I wake up, 100 when I sleep.
3. Run 1.5 miles in 8:30-9:30 (max) min.
4. Pullups, 30.
5. Curls with a 50 lb. dumbell until I get tiredish.
I do this (with rare exceptions) every single day, Mon.-Sun. I have been told recently (I didn't know this) but I am allegedly suppose to rest my muscles for 2 days or so per week. Is this true? Is this really necessary? I love the workout part of my day and would feel like a lazy piece of shit if I didn't do it.

What's the point of even doing any of that?

Well it's not like you're going to get anywhere by doing that, so it seems kind of pointless to me.

Perhaps not but it's not only something to do but would seem to increase longevity in the long run. Train the mind, train the body.

Yes it is necessary... When you lift a weight, you are breaking some of your muscular fibre. So, it's necessary to rest the body part you trained, to make sure your muscular fibre are able to rebuild themselves. In fact, it's necessary to eat protein because of that. Muscular fibre need protein to rebuild themselves stronger.
Example : Day 1 You train upper body
Day 2 You rest upper body AND you train lower body (Ex. Jogging during 20min).
Day 3 You train upper body and rest lower body.
You should see a coach. He will have better tips than mostly everybody.
(Is it clear? Cause my message seems messy )
