What action has been taken or can be taken against the actual mouthpiece of the Capitalist/Imperialist aggressors?

The media is responsible for keeping people in the dark about the problems in today's society and misinforming them about who their actual enemy is.
Is there any logical way in which the media can be either silenced or exposed? Their usual response to any criticism is deny and ridicule, How can this be combated?

Any ideas or theories?

It can be combated to some extent by developing alternative news sources aimed at the mass market and upholding no party-political line. Of course, these will never have the resources available to the billionaire-bankrolled capitalist press, but they can succeed in challenging the dominant narrative, and it's something the left should do more of. In the Anglophone world, even liberal outlets like Democracy Now and RNN have a reasonable impact on political discourse (whereas the Morning Star, for example, does not).

Directly combating lies and disinformation via the organs of the establishment itself (i.e. the mainstream media) is more difficult and it's hard to see how any headway can be made with that approach. I'm normally on the live-and-let-live wing of the movement when it comes to free speech, but practically every newspaper I read these days contains columns whose authors I'd quite happily see locked up for incitement to racial hatred, post-revolution.

I believe in free speech too, but there is a difference between free speech and blatent lies and purposeful disinformation.

Yes giving the other side of the story is important however as you said directly competing with them is very difficult given that they are very well funded. I was thinking something along the lines of newspapers or flyers mailed out to large portions of the population. Or maybe in email form.

I started this thread as more of a brainstorm where we can consider different ideas and methods.

FOX, CNN, MSNBC...all of them. They are there in order to put on a play and make it appear that the people have various options, when in reality whoever they vote for will result in the same problems.

The mouthpiece of the ruling class should be our first target.

I am in no position to attack anyone at the moment lol

I believe all media which is a mouthpiece for the bourgeoisie capitalists needs to be shut down. Media which is corporate owned has zero interests in giving the public the truth.
