View Full Version : What do you eat in a day?

This is a really odd question, but I've kind of lost sight of what is normal for people to eat in a day. This is one of the few places where I can post weird questions mostly anonymously. I eat anything from nothing at all to several times the recommended daily intake for a woman and I really just want to know what's normal. So I was wondering, what do you eat for breakfast, dinner and tea, and do you have any snacks? How many calories do you eat at each meal? Does it worry you when you over or under eat?

My eating habits would not be considered 'normal', for example, I tend to eat just one meal a day, dinner. Being busy or concentrating makes me forget that I am hungry, and I may skip a meal because of it. I usually 'end' a meal with dessert, or something savoury.
I have no reason to be worried about my weight, so I don't worry about calories or pigging out. I don't have any health problems that I'm aware of, so I don't eat as well as I should. I try to include vegetables in my diet but it does seem I have to force myself.

I do not follow how many calories I eat, but I follow what it is that I eat and whether it is enough or too little. I am working out a lot, and while I want to become stronger/faster and more fit, I do not want to gain too much muscle-mass and become overly large (which my genetics/whatever seem inclined to make me).

For breakfast I always drink a cup or two of coffee, together with either a bowl or two of oat grains + milk (low fat %) or a few slices of brown/whole grain bread, with butter as well as meat, caviar, liver pâté, cheese or something on top. That stuff is pretty cheap here, btw.

Then if I have a workout around noon (if I got free time) I will drink a protein shake afterwards, together with maybe a banana and another slice of bread. If there was no workout, drop the powder. I usually drink like a liter of milk every day.

My dinner time varies, but usually around 4-6 o'clock, I will eat dinner. I actually tend to eat a lot of pasta and pizza and shit like that, simply because I can't be bothered to make more advanced meals. While I don't have an obesity problem, I try to make sure to stay away from sugar as far as I can. I bought a large quantity of chicken not long ago and will be primarily having that for dinner onward. I eat like 2 chicken breasts plus rice, plus some salad, after which I'm completely full.

From 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock I will have another tiny meal, maybe just a banana or some other fruit.

An hour after that I go to workout more often than not. When I come home from again I drink protein + milk, and maybe have another slice of bread. Generally I try not to eat too much after 8-9 though.

By the way, this eating schedule is not something I've planned or calculated before. This is the first time I thought it through, and while I don't worry if there's deviations at all, the above is pretty much what I eat daily. In other words, I just basically eat when my body tells me to.

In the morning, I get up for dawn prayers. After that I have coffee and cigarettes and go back to bed.

When I get up, I have lots of fruits and coffee.

For a snack in the morning I get some grilled sausages or spinach pie, I think you would call these things in English.

Then, for lunch, coffee and a BIG, big burger or something. But our version, with extra onions and ajvar. And I will make some stuffed peppers sometimes, with rice and meats.

For the last meal, something nice and light, like Bey's Soup, and so on, but with a big dessert. Baklava is my favourite but I also love processed snacks. Rooster ones are good!

And, all that time, I eat lots of fruits and vegetables as snacks. Especially tomatoes.

I love to cut them in half, put spices and cheeses, and baked for a while and then eat. I have that, maybe, 4 times daily.

Who does shit after fajr? I got straight back to sleep.

As to the OP, idk if you're looking for answers strictly from women but what I eat varies from day to day. Today, I had 3 cups of black coffee, 2 shots of vodka and a leftover baked potatoe. Lunch I had lots of grilled lamb with Peri Peri sauce. For dinner I got some chicken nuggets with sweet chili sauce and that dank mango/pineapple smoothie. Currently finishing off my 4 glass of vodka though. I have no idea if this is normal, I assume not.

I had chicken nuggets for the first time in Canada. From McDonald's. I LOVED to eat them, but within that hour... I was SO sick! I turned pale, I vomited... everything. I never had North American "Fast Food" since. Never, not even once.

Grilled lamb... my God... I would lick a cat's behind if it sat on a grilled lamb. I miss lamb.

I had to kill the sheep for Ramadan once and I've been paranoid of lamb ever since.

Lamb is the champagne of meats.

I've done that more than once, I didn't really mind it.

When I'm at my parents house I eat as much as I can shove into my mouth because they are rich and don't care about eatting all the food.

When I am out couch surfing I eat scraps. I'm lucky if I get the equivilent to a meal in a day.

o well this is ok I guess

I eat, usually a quesadilla or fries and deep fried chicken, around 12-2:30. What we call "cooked dinner", boiled vegetables, roasted meat, peas pudding and pastry all with gravy, on Sundays.

I eat anything my grandmother has cooked, or if I BBQ or make chili or something, around 5-7.

I eat pizza pops, ramen noodles, cereal, or something like that between 11 and 1.

I don't eat breakfast, I do snack in between meals.

I am not obese, I'm lucky. Even though my diet sucks.

So yeah, normal for you isn't normal for me.

i wake up like at 11 am so i dont really have breakfast. i eat at 12:30 with my coworkers. i been making chicken breast with some frozen veggies and some pasta for lunch. then i come back at home and i probably have either a chicken breast or some sandwich with some fruit. i go to workout and then i have at the end of the day a pnj sandwich with a large glass of milk. while its not an amazing diet i try to eat ok and buy good food, not shit junk food. if i dont eat good i will feel like shit all day, i've realized this since i actually switched my diet and stopped smoking and now i feel energetic all day and not as depressed.

When I'm working I eat like a king. Salmon, venison, moose, fresh vegetables, etc.

When I'm not working (most of the year) I eat like a bum. Lots of fast food and such. I have a high metabolism though, so it just gets burned off and I never get fat.

KFC, KFC and more KFC. It's literally all I ever eat, you wouldn't be surprised if you found out I live just across the road from a KFC :)

Street food and small business foods (i really love this after a big night...4am a hot dog is really nice...i do not know if people of other countries are used to eat after party, drinking...couse it is very common in CHile)....
i love to eat fruit...One of the good things of living in my country is that the "ferias", are an amazing place to search for local food.

Exercising really increases your urge to do things without pain or tiring. Increasing your libido is just one of the things that exercise can do to your body. Of course, when you exercise all of your muscles are tolerant of stress and can make one persevere in their own task.

When I'm staying with my parents, I eat whatever they give me ranging from rice and salad to spagetthi and other forms of pasta.

The times when I live on my own, well, I've gone through weeks at a time eating only parogies.

Stuff I really shouldn't. I've had like 20 of those butter candy sweets today, and not much else. Funnily enough though, although I( eat badly, i'm not overweight at all... I must have a high metabolism.

it's kinda like, I eat loads, then i just go, "da Fok?" Because I'm not obese.

Well, in the summer it's usually an apple and a yogurt cup for breakfast, a few almonds, crappy diet candies, some more yogurt, lots of tea, and a fish fillet for dinner.

Hooray for EDs.

I normally eat one meal. That one meal may be big or small depending on how my stomach feels.

I don't follow the "recommend daily intake of calories for people your size". I'm lucky if I eat 1500 calories a day now. I just can't force feed myself like the system says I should (breakfast, lunch and supper) I usually have for breakfast a slice of flax bread with some cream cheese and have supper later in the day, one plate.

4500 minimum calorie diet. Eat food by the truckloads, and anything i can't eat i blend and drink to supplement it. How you guys can manage on a 1500 or smaller diet is beyond me. One slice of bread for breakfast? I had to have 3 bagels to suppress my hunger followed by an 1800 calorie shake 2 hours later.

Mostly a bunch of crap and a multi-vitamin.

Considering I don't need to be at school until four in the afternoon and I usually wake up at ten o'clock you can understand my reluctance to eat a lot of food before lunch. :D

4500 minimum calorie diet. Welcome to America.
Unless you're doing sports or something,it's over-consumption.

Was following more of a 5-6 small meals per day thing from January through to about July, gone back to 3 meals a day now just cos I can't be arsed to prepare lots of food.

I was quite overweight in January, now i'm pretty normal at 13st, will have that down to 12stone by January.

Since July i've been having cereal at breakfast, lunch and dinner will be a meal of either pasta, chicken rice and peas, steak, fish etc. Quite healthy. Normally have some takeaway once a week, get drunk once or twice a week.

Will change my diet this week as i'm getting bored, probably gonna change to a different kind of cereal, divide lunch into two small meals: probably a chicken breast as one and fruit with pouring yoghurt as another, and then have dinner as normal. My calorie intake is anywhere from 2000-2500 on a non-drinking, non-takeaway day.

It's under-consumption. :D don't believe that whole 2000 calorie diet horseshit, there's too many variables involved for a general rule to apply to the entire population.
