It's full of historical information, but I barely understand it, and I'm not familiar with Mexican history.

Siete leguas el caballo,
que Villa más estimaba,
cuando oía silbar los trenes,
se paraba y relinchaba,
siete leguas el caballo,
que Villa más estimaba.

En la estación de Irapuato,
cantaban los horizontes,
ahí combatió formal,
la brigada Bracamontes,
en la estación de Irapuato,
cantaban los horizontes.

Como a las tres de la tarde,
silbó la locomotora,
¡arriba, arriba muchachos!,
pongan la ametralladora,
como a las tres de la tarde,
silbó la locomotora.

Oye tú Francisco Villa,
qué dice tu corazón,
ya no te acuerdas valiente,
que atacaste Paredón,
ya no te acuerdas valiente,
que tomaste a Torreón.

Adiós torres de Chihuahua,
adiós torres de Cantera,
ya vino Francisco Villa,
a quitarles la bandera,
ya vino Francisco Villa,
a devolver la frontera.

Ok, so the first verse is about Pancho Villa's favorite horse. And then the the second verse talks about how the Baracamontes brigade fought at Irapuato.
I think the third verse Villa and his men are attacking a train. The fourth verse he asks if Villa has forgotten how he attacked Pareón, and how he took Torreón. Then finally he's saying good by to the towers in Chihuahua and Cantera. Apparently Villa has come to take the flag down and regain the border.

Still, I have no idea what's going on.

It's about his exploits during the Revolution. The fifth verse is about his time as Governor of Chihuahua onward.

Start with him Governor of Chihuahua, the rest of the song will make sense from then on.
