I have a belief that Capitalism even in its purest form will always result in Fascism. Whether it takes 10 years, or 100 years Fascism will be the result. As Capitalism is centered around capital, then eventually the persons/group with most Capital will end up with full authority over the people.

Do you guys feel that this is a sound theory? Considering that even if there are some forms of checks in order to prevent corporations and wealthy individuals from attaining such power, what is to stop them from paying their way to the positions of power? Since Capital is on everyone's mind in a society only concentrated on acquiring money and through that wealth power and leverage over others in order to exploit them for further gain?

How does what you've said relate to fascism? Fascists, for the most part, are against free market capitalism.

I think he means it will lead to authoritarianism, a dictatorship of the wealthy. The word Fascism is thrown around so much these days we begin to loose its true meaning.

Capitalist mode of production =/= "free market capitalism".

Fascism is still capitalism.

Indeed, but my point was that it's not so much the culmination of capitalism, as the OP seems to suggest. Historically, its rise has been enabled by factors other than the logical development of capitalism.

Fascism is still Capitalism, but Capitalism is not Fascism.

Authoritarian Capitalism is not Fascism, either.

Fascism is a distinct, jingoistic, xenophobic, supremacist ideology.

People that try to equate Authoritarian Capitalism with Fascism, when there is clearly little overlap of ideology aside from the economic mode of production, really do my head in.
