King Electrical Services owner John King was shot by a person who appears to be from one of the many unions who have targeted his workers, Toledo News Channel 11 WTOL reports (http://www.wtol.com/story/15273318/lambertville-vandalism-turns-life-threatening?clienttype=printable). King is the largest non-union contractor company in the area of southeastern Michigan near the Ohio border.
He has a long history of being on the receiving end of union-related violence, and this case doesn’t appear to be any different. Before shooting him, the gunman etched the word “SCAB” into the side of King’s SUV.

You should have seen the other links to this story...one from Glenn Beck's website, and another complaining about typical "union thugs".
Although that second one did have a nice reference to a statement from Verizon workers declaring "open season" on scabs.

I'm sorry I can feel no remorse for the death of an owner.

Vell, maybe if you weren't a scab, things like this wouldn't happen?

Maybe I'm just being overly conspiracy theorist-y but there is something that makes feel a bit suspicious of this whole thing. Plus isn't a scab a worker who is sent in to replace striking workers, and not a boss who has been fight tooth and nail again unions?

I'm not to savvy on the specifics on the story in question but even if said man wasn't a scab and instead a boss who has fought tooth and nail against unions and workers then serves him right.

My post wasn't a response to yours. My comment about the scab thing was only relevant because the killer scratched "scab" onto King's car. So my conspiracy loving side makes me think that someone is trying to frame the unions, but since it's a recent thing I don't think I can complete make that claim

What good could killing him possibly bring?

It should be noted that the owner was not killed. He was shot in the arm.

killing the boss by a lone guy during the homestead strikes killed public sentiment for the workers.

Right-wing propaganda.
What does his union membership have to do with it?
It was more likely that the employer destroyed his life.

Didn't kill him. If he had died, there probably would have been more sympathy for the workers. Also, let's recall that even in the militia sent to contain the strike, there was a cry of "three cheers for the man who shot Frick!" Not to mention the fact that he ordered workers killed during the strike, and horribly mistreated them before the strike.

Thanks for that correction. With how the article was word, one could easily (as I did) come away with the idea that the guy was killed.
This makes me even more suspicious of this whole thing. Mysterious man in the shadows vandalizes a very anti-union business owner's car using a wrongly applied term associated with unions and strikes, while there is a big strike going on, but only hits the business owner in the arm.

yo dawg I saw the story and I thought it may be of interest to someone. Am I not allowed to post certain stories? What about the workers in India who set their boss on fire, killing him? Should that story not have been posted either?
Also, despite the obviously biased tone of that link, it does state that he wasn't killed in the shooting.

I don't much about you or your views Explosive Situation, but the website you linked seems pretty pro-capitalism and anti-woman (read some stories which oppose women's rights on that site). It is not that I oppose you linking stories which concern union violence, but I advice you to link those stories through sites that are less right-wing/fascist.

The exact same story was posted on yahoo news (http://news.yahoo.com/union-organizer-suspected-shooting-non-union-ohio-employer-052606083.html), if you prefer that...

Who the fuck are you to tell him what to link to? He was linking to a story, not a website. Get a grip.
You've come into this thread and just made an attack on the provenance the OP used. As a matter of fact, the link gave us all the salient facts needed in order to expand and have a good discussion.
Instead of shouting mindlessly from the sidelines, I advise you to link through sites that are less right-wing/fascist. Be a bit more constructive, comrade.:thumbup1:

This looks incredibly fishy, nothing they reported adds up right. It reminds me of the McCain campaign staffer who claimed she was assaulted with a knife by an Obama fan, but faked the whole thing. I get the feeling his company is really close to going union and this is some stupid last ditch effort to stop ballot.
