View Full Version : Does physical exercise increase libido?

Just something I've noticed recently. I did get kinda out of shape and for 2 weeks now I've been exercising regularly.
One thing I did notice besides feeling better overall, is that my libido goes crazy some 10-15 minutes after the exercise.
I do aerobic exercises for stamina, no weight lifting and such.
Each time after exercise I get a very strong urge to have sex and/or anything sex related.
I tend to think my libido otherwise is pretty normal, but this comes as a bit of a surprise. Very strong and emotional urge.
Does it have anything to do with increase heart rate from exercising or something else?
I was into sports when I was younger and do not remember such strong "effect".
I'm 27 btw.

Sex is physical exercise.
At least in my book. :thumbup1:

If this effect is replicable, then I may have finally found a reason to start exercising.

YES, is certainly does. A good exercise will boost testosterone levels, which will in turn boost libido. i experience this every time I have a good workout. Exercise also boosts dopamine levels, especially when you are doing cardio
However, over-exercising will do the opposite, because it will significantly boost cortisol, which has a negative correlation with both testosterone and dopamine

Great info thanks :)
Yes, I heard that over-exercising can be bad for you in many different ways. It can also lead to muscle injury.
I don't really measure reps and stuff and like that. Lately I just exercise till I get moderately tired, but not too tired. Like 30-40 min of cardio per day.

I strongly reccomend it. That's what keeps me exercising :D

since i started exercising i feel fucking great. along with sleeping regular hours too. though for me, it makes me just want to fight. i dunno why. lol.
like, i went to an airsoft match recently after i started getting into shape and i was aggressive as fuck. even though my team basically lost 6 hrs straight (the other team had regulars who just use GBB pistols and run up at you while mine had 10-15yr olds with rentals who would just clump up on each other)

I think at least in part this instinct could probably be chalked up to the aforementioned increase in testosterone levels in your body caused by exercise.

Works the other way too, fap just before physical training, but not all the way. You should be hopped up on testosterone like Duke Nukem.

Works for women too.

This is kind of embarrassing to say, but I usually use a good fap as motivation to get through my work out routine.

Yeah, testosterone and dopamine are strongly correlated. Most of the psychological effects of testosterone have to do with its effects on dopamine. In women it has more to do with the effect of exercise on dopamine, but women also have small amounts of testosterone in their bodies (about 1/7th of what men have), and that does help them with building muscle and libido.

Yeah, from what I understand, that's why in some cases transdermal testosterone patches are used to treat decreased libido in post-menopausal women.

You could also take a pre workout supplement that contains NO in it before having sex, since it increases vascularity you'll be hard like a rock ( personal experience, no problems with libido, but I thought my junk was gonna lift off like a Soyuz rocket while banging on jack3d/1MR )

NO? Nitrous Oxide?

NO? Nitrous Oxide?
Yessir, it is in a few pre-workout supplements that are on the market. I personally prefer Jack3d or 1.M.R ( 1 More Rep, this has extra stimulants in it however ) if I'm off cycle and not doing any kinds of other experiments in regards to working out ;)
I decided to use a serving before having sex and, like I posted before, the increase in vascularity associated with said supplements gave me an extra boost in hardness. I have no libido problems, even while on other less than legit supplements, but I do recommend someone give it a shot if they want. I believe your local GNC can give you a free sampler.

As far as I've heard physical exercise does indeed increase your sex drive.
A tip in that respect is to exercise the larger muscles, such as the legs. Squats is supposed to do wonders, I hear.

Proper form is key in squats though, anything above parallel and you're not getting the most you can from the exercise. IIRC squats not only work the lower body, but also the upper body to some extent.

works the core a lot. you use your whole body for it, which is a good testosterone booster iirc, so it's great for all round development.

Yeah I've read on forums that a fap before the gym increases their work ethic, but sex before the gym makes me skip the gym. Who the hell wants to work out exhausted?
