So I need to get either atlas shrugged or the fountain head. Which book is bigger. Also What do you reccomend for cutting large book sized holes in other books, and what kind of glue would be best for keeping any compartments together inside the book to keep it's shape?

on a COMPLETELY unrelated note, What size book would I need to hide both Das kapital and the communist manifesto in? would I need two books to do this?

I'm reading this and I can't figure out what you're planning. You want to read Das Kapital or the Communist Manifesto publicly without getting beat up?

Pretty much, I live in Georgia. And my own parents barely tolerate me. Besides a copy of atlas shrugged is always a good way to illicit a response from both sides. And if I meet any of our red brothers or more preferably red sisters all I have to do is turn the book over.

Atlas Shrugged is bigger, but if you actually plan to read it The Fountainhead is better. I can't think of anything but one of those massive pulpit bibles to hide both das kapital and the manifesto in. Or cover it with a magazine.

o well this is ok I guess

If you read the Fountainhead you'll at most be terribly bored.
If you read atlas shrugged you'll at least feel terribly sick.

No need to straight up hide them in books. You can make fake book jackets.

Oh fuck no. In fact I'm going to plastic line the compartment so ayn rand doesn't rub off on my books.

so atlas shrugged it is. Is it big enough to at least hide just das kapital in, that's the one I want to read first.

But then i won't get to mutilate an ayn rand book.

Probably if you get the hardcover you can fit capital inside. You could probably just tear out the pages and put the cover on capital(no glue of course)

But then i won't get to mutilate an ayn rand book. Yes but you can do that anyways. Hiding a book in a book sounds like a difficult sort of task, when it's much easier to hide little things in there, like bags of weed or treasure maps.

That aside, Atlas Shrugged won't hide any volume of capital. They're big, man.

Just buy the dustjackets if you can, don't waste your money on the whole book. :p

You have a point. On a side note, if you promise a relative dying of lung cancer to never smoke does weed count?

When I was a kid I had to figure out how to hide drugs and booze from my parents.

Oh my, how times have changed.

Oh my, how times have changed. Man how did people survive without the internet?
I use the internet to figure out how to survive without the internet.

Just read them in plain sight. If someone comes up and wants to debate with you, debate with them! Or just make a book cover.

What are you going to tell someone who comes up and wants to talk about Fountainhead or Atlas Shrugged? :D

Just change the book cover. Or write "Debunking" before each of the book's titles, lol

Um georgias a bit different someone isn't going to come up to you wantin to debate, they're going to start screaming, and there is the real possibility of them pulling out a gun.

Do you really think people believe this?

You can just be honest and say "I don't want confrontation, so I want to conceal what I'm reading".

Very few people pay attention to shit like that in real life, and the most you'll get is a snide remark or two, or somebody trying to argue with you maybe once or twice, and all you have to do is say "I'm just reading a book, dick".

And no, nobody in their right mind is going to pull a gun on you, that would be a felony, and nobody wants a felony because some kid is reading a book they don't like.

Don't be so over-dramatic.

I don't care if other people believe it, I do.

I used to live in North Florida which is pretty much South Georgia. No one's going to pull a gun. At most you'll probably get someone going off about how evil the "gotdamn soc'lists" are, and even that is unlikely, most people, assuming that they even noticed what you're reading, would just give a look of disgust.

Why?

Certain parts of the state still have lynchings, they're illegal but they happen on occasion. Your fine in the city, atlanta itself is fairly liberal for georgia. But get out in the boon docks where I am and you start running into guys that talk alot about killing Barack Obama and actually have bomb shelters with food stocks. Don't get me wrong most of the people here are fine but we do have that little fringe that are heavily armed and out of their fucking minds. And sadly most of my family fits this bill.

Yeah bro, I live in the south, I know what its like down here, I've also spent plenty of time in the deep south.

What I'm asking is why you think a) anybody will even care enough to notice what you're reading b) why they would care enough to say anything c) why they would care enough to pull out a gun?

In reality nobody is going to pay attention to a kid on the bus or on a park bench reading a book, 99.9% of people are not even gonna notice, and that .1% who do, 99.9% of them are not even gonna say anything to you about it, so that tiny .1% of .1% who actually say something to you, like "hey, is that a communist book, why are you reading that?", you can just tell them "cause I like to read about politics".

Like I said, don't be so dramatic.
