Spend Mike's Tax Cut! (http://www.michaelmoore.com/books-films/dudewheresmycountry/taxcut/form.php)
Michael Moore, populist author, has pledged to spend his tax cut from Bush on a candidate running against Bush in the 2004 election. He has a link on his website, posted above, where you can tell him which candidate to support. Get out there and represent a progressive candidate! I have included my answer below:
My candidate: Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH)
Why is he the right person? You already know. You recently said you agree with him 100%. A real National Health Care plan is good, for starters. He is also the most adamant of the anti-war candidates. He is also opposed to NAFTA, and wants to create jobs to help the economy by rebuilding this country (He has even gone so far as to conjure the spirit of FDR and the New Deal).
Why does he have the best chance of winning? He is the most liberal of the candidates. As you point out in your new book, this country is socially liberal. I think you are right when you say that Americans will pick a Republican over a Democrat masquerading as a Republican. Lieberman is a psuedo-Republican, and Sen. Edwards and Rep. Gephardt seem to be quite conservative as well. Dean has said publicly that he is to the right of Bush on some issues! The candidates in the mainstream, those considered "electable", are at best a lousy excuse for an opposition party--and thus unworthy of your money. At worst, these candidates are closet Republicans.
That is why you should support someone who is honest and unwavering in progressive politics. That candidate is Dennis Kucinich. Thank you.
