A friend of mine challenged me to search out the differences of how yahoo and google search engines cater to your search history. For example when you search Why is there in each search engine, the top search will give you finds catered to what it thinks you want to see.
His was
Yahoo: "Why is there fuzz on a tennis ball" and Google; "Why is there a drunk Chinese man doing push ups on my front lawn."
Mine was Google: Why is there Anti-Intellectualism? Yahoo. Why there is Something rather than Nothing?
So what are your search finds?

Google: "Why is there a dead Pakistani on my couch?"
Yahoo: "Why is there a leap year?"

Google: "Why is there a dead Pakistani on my couch?"
Yahoo: "Why is there a leap year?"
I had the exact same results.

Great thread.
Google: Why is there riots in London? (odd, because generally I know how to make a subject and verb agree, lol)
Yahoo: Why is there no 13th floor?

Well? Why is there a leap year? It seems to be a good queston. :) As far as I understand it it's because the time it takes the earth to complete an orbit of the sun is 365.25 days (or thereabouts) rather than being the more convienient 365, so in order to maintain an accurate dating system we have to "add" the extra day every four years.
Google gave me dead pakistani and the leap year thing - ask jeeves had "why is there salt in the sea" and, as far as I'm aware, hasn't been used as a search engine since the late paleolithic.

As I use Ecosia:
Why is there air?
When will I be loved (song)
...nice...the latter is potent enough :(
For those who don't care about the rainforests ():
Google: pakistani & psn
Yahoo: leap year & tax rebate
Boooooring, same as everybody else. Therefore Ecosia is better :)
