This question is twofold. Can discrimination happen in a socialist/communist society? Why or why not?
Also, what arguments should i use in support of gay marriage?

1. In theory, no, because there is no reason for discrimination. In practice, who knows.
2. Supporting gay marriage is such a common sense thing that if you need to argue for it, your opponent is a lost cause anyway. The usual arguments - there is no reason why not, it's not like it harms anyone, being gay is as valid a lifestyle as any other, there is no basis for anti-gay discrimination - should work well in defeating any rightwingers.

Well, it depends exactly what you're talking about. Assuming you're talking about sexual, racial discrimination etc. -
Immediately following a socialist revolution? Absolutely, because we've had socialist revolutions and those types of discrimination have continued.
But in the long run of a classless society? It's certainly possible, but it's less and less likely. In class societies those types of discrimination have a social basis, there are reasons they happen. In class societies there's no reason they would go on beyond the failure of history to do its work.

In support of gay marriage, as in "the gays should be married", or as in "everyone should have the right to marry their adult partner"?
Assuming it's the latter, the simplest answer is "why not"? Abortion and gay marriage aren't serious political issues. No one has a good reason to object to the right to abortion or gay marriage. The only real reason we have to talk about these things is that the ultra right has been able to use these issues as ways to deflect class politics away from electoral politics. Since the Democrats can't credibly fight for (working) class politics, they basically let the Republicans make elections about abortion and gay marriage. Elites would like elections to be about these issues because they don't want elections to be about class politics. They've failed in that though everywhere except the United States, which is why abortion and gay marriage are non-issues in basically the rest of the industrialized world.
Marriage rights are the basis of all sorts of ordinary civil rights. It's tied up with pension and survivor benefits, tax benefits and so on. There's a big question as to whether or not these things should actually have any relationship with one's sexual or family life, but they do, and while they do, we shouldn't be discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation. There's no good reason to do so. If anything, if you think it's important for kids to have stable families, you should support gay marriage because if gay people are going to be parents they're either going to grow up with single gay parents or grow up with married gay parents.

I'd like to add to this point. Discrimination can occur, but systematic discrimination cannot.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts. Individual Discrimination and views will likely survive for a bit amongst certain parts of society but as a whole it would no longer have a use or application since the Proletariat would be in control whereas now systematic discrimination is used for the sole sake of keeping the Proletariat divided to maintain the Status Quo for the Bourgeoisie.

When I argue with conservatives over gay marriage, I like to appeal to their love of the constitution. Say that by not allowing a church to marry homosexuals the government is enforcing its view on the church as well as restricting freedom of religion.
