Hello Russian friend.
I'm curious...
Why did you exiled yourself in Sweden?
How's the communist "scene" in Sweden? ( And also in Russia if you know )
Welcome on Revleft :)

It's a story too long and complicated to explain here my friend. The communist movement in Sweden isn't too strong, and personally, I think it's misguided. Much like around the rest of the world, many communists seek to make deals with capitalism, they make many concessions. This I think is unforgiveable. Besides that, Sweden is a very rich country, and not many people are concerned with issues like class struggle. Sweden doesn't have a very good environment for a strong communist movement to exist.
Russia has a pretty strong "Communist Party", but I don't consider it to be very communist at all. There are many Stalinist elements in it, and even more nationalist elements. The KPRF. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation is the second biggest political party in Russia, with about 55 seats in the Duma(Parliament, there are 450 seats in all). They got about 16 percent of the vote in the 2007 national elections, up from 12 in the 2003 elections. So you could say their influence is growing.
The Party, like I mentioned, while in name Communist, has very fascist tendencies. It has been able to dominate the left in Russia because it is the Kremlin's "official" opposition party, the Kremlin helped them force out all other communist parties, they're pretty much the sole opposition the Kremlin accepts. I am also very against the Party's appeasement of the Russian Orthodox Church.
I think in the future the KPRF is going to change. Until recently, most of it's electorate was old people who miss the benifits of the Soviet Union, and Industrial workers. But more and more students are becoming supporters of it, for example my university, MSU(oldest and best university in Russia) is having more and more KPRF supporters every year. I think as the current leadership is replaced by this new blood, the KPRF is going to become a more communist party, forcing out the nationalist elements.
Anyways I didn't write much in the OP. To add to it, I was born in Moscow, I'm 27, speak 4 languages, and have a degree in Political Science from MSU. I've been a communist since my teenage years I suppose, though I was leaning closer to Bakuninism in the past, I consider myself more a orthodox Marxist today, but still I have some anarchist leanings.

Welcome comrade!
If I might ask, do you know what the anarchist movement is like in Russia? Thanks!

Welcome from one newbie to this board to another. I'm Trotskyist, so I've got to ask, are any of MY type commies left in Russia? I know there's a few in Sweden, but did Stalin kill us all in Russia?

There are Trotskyites everywhere, but not that many in Russia imo. Trotskyism is gaining popularity with students however.

I don't like the label "Trotskyism" either. It's a Stalinist term that stuck, used to discredit the more orthodox Marxists. The core of Trotskyism, The Permanent Revolution, Trotsky didn't pull that out of his ass. The Permanent Revolution was a term coined by Marx. Personally, I think Trotsyism is more orthodox Marxism than Leninism.
